About this Event
Join Florida Humanities and the Selby Public Library to celebrate the release of . The new book marks Florida Humanities' 50th anniversary with a collection of 50 timeless stories from the archives of FORUM, the award-winning magazine of Florida Humanities. As part of a statewide book tour, Jacki Levine, the anthology’s editor, reunites with scholars and writers whose stories were selected to appear in this richly-illustrated coffee table book. At our fourth stop in Sarasota, the conversation will center around Florida’s environment. Panelists will explore how the natural environment, especially the waterways, have shaped the stories of Florida, as well as what it means to write engaging environmental stories for a modern audience.
A reception of light hors d’oeuvres will precede the program.
Parking is available in the museum’s parking lot anytime, and on the evenings and weekends next door at the Law Offices of Attorneys Folds & Walker and at the Alachua County Public Schools District Office.
