Join us for First Fridays at the Butte Public Library, featuring Kim Murphy Kohn from the World Museum of Mining. On Friday, January 3, 2025, Kim will present "Men in the Mines: Mine Crews in Butte, Montana, 1882-1960," a captivating presentation of historic photographs.Much of mining history focuses on companies, ore quantities, and values. This talk, based on the Mining Museum's online exhibit, highlights the crews of men who worked underground. Drawing from the Montana State Mine Inspector’s Reports, historic newspapers, and public records, Kim will share the stories of the hard-rock miners and craftsmen who worked above and below ground in Butte.
