"Memento Mori"Grand Gallery & Community Gallery
October 23 - November 9, 2025
In Latin, "Memento Mori" means "remember you must die." This exhibition features works of art that give pause for the memory of loved ones and find humorous and serious connections to mortality. The art show also ties into the Hispanic celebration of Día de los Muertos. Explore the exhibit's two-dimensional and three-dimensional artworks that thematically reflect on the transient nature of life and the reality of death, incorporating cultural, humorous, and serious symbolism and artistic elements!
This year’s "Memento Mori" exhibit features a global public art project called “Before I Die.” Originally created by artist Candy Chang, the interactive display invites people to reflect on their lives and share their personal aspirations in public. More than 5,000 walls have been created around the world!
The public reception for "Memento Mori" is November 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
