About this Event
Join Texas Latino Pride and HELP Center for a powerful afternoon of film, art and resilience. Love, Jamie tells the extraordinary story of Jamie Diaz, a Mexican American trans woman whose art, created while she was incarcerated, became a testament to pride, chosen family and survival against all odds.
From fashioning paintbrushes out of human hair to building an internationally recognized body of queer-themed art, Jamie’s work is bold, defiant and deeply moving. The film also captures the profound bond formed through letters between Jamie and fellow trans advocate Gabriel Joffe, a connection that helped bring her art to the world.
