You are invited to start your Sunday, Dec. 21, with the sound of Christmas coming alive! During both the 9am and 11am services, “Light Has Come” will blend worship styles for a joyful celebration of the birth of Christ. The Peace Lutheran Church sanctuary will fill with the rich sounds of choir and organ, the energy of a modern band, the shimmer of handbells, and the warmth of accompanying instruments. Each piece of music, whether familiar or newly inspired, becomes a lantern guiding us toward the wonder of Christ’s arrival.
“Scripture and music all celebrate the Old Testament prophecies and New Testament fulfillment of the coming of Christ, the Light of the World,” said Peace Traditional Worship Director and Organist Carol Armbrecht. “I am really excited to be collaborating with (Peace Modern Worship Director) Billy (Petty) on the music – choir, organ, worship team, bells and instruments, all together on our favorite carols. It will be an amazing combination of all of our musical resources!”
Because we hope all Peace members can attend either of the Dec. 21 services, there will not be a Saturday worship service at our Lawndale Campus on Dec. 20.
“We realize many people travel around the holidays and that this worship service very well may be your Christmas worship service here at home,” Petty said. “Christmas Eve worship services will certainly be special, but this worship event promises to be an equally beautiful, worshipful and participatory time of singing, worship and prayer as we combine our worship ministry efforts.”
Our entire church family will lift its voice to celebrate the Light who stepped into darkness. Come, hear the story in song. Come, be part of a morning where hope is rekindled. Every voice and every instrument will declare the same truth: Light Has Come!
