Join The Mass Liberation Project, Black Mamas, Elected Officals for a Guaranteed Income Screening and Panel Discussion Saturday July 27, 2024 at 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM.

The documentary looks at several pilot programs launched in the US that test the effects of giving everyday people an extra $500 to $1,000 monthly, with no strings attached. Directed by Marc Levin and executive produced by Mayors for a Guaranteed Income (MGI) Founder Michael Tubbs, the film explores the power of cash, the importance of dignity, and the ongoing work of providing an income floor through the eyes of guaranteed income recipients who have witnessed firsthand the life-altering effects of financial stability.

Mass Liberation Project Nevada has launched its first Guaranteed Income Fellowship Program that aims to holistically address multiple layers of incarceration impacting marginalized communities across Las Vegas. The T.H.R.I.V.E. Fellowship Program is a reciprocal program that includes basic income payments along with other opportunities related to the advancement and education opportunities including: farming, advocacy, community organizing, financial autonomy, political education, body movement, research, self care and meditation.

This in-person free event held at Nevada Partners 690 W. Lake Mead Blvd. North Las Vegas, NV 89030, with doors opening at 4:00PM. The program and documentary screening starts at 4:45 PM. Get ready to be inspired and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of guaranteed income.

It's Basic is directed by Emmy award-winning independent film director Marc Levin, with Stockton, California, Mayor Michael Tubbs serving as executive producer. This new documentary introduces viewers to participants of guaranteed income pilots led by Mayors for a Guaranteed Income.

Set against the backdrop of widening income gaps, politics, and growing social concern, It's Basic shows how guaranteed income pilots impacted the lives of families across the country. We know if more people see the stories of our participants and learn about how life-changing guaranteed income can be for families, support for the movement will only grow.
