Come join for an exciting intro to Indian classical dance!
Learn how to embody different Goddesses, from Lakshmi to Kali, with basic dance sequences and hand gestures. Finally, try your hand at improvising with live percussion!
The workshop includes:
- A series of short meditations
- Dance poses associated with different Goddesses
- Learning a short routine
- Learning to improvise with tabla
Rimi Basu is an Indian dance, voice, and yoga teacher and has been instructing and performing around the world for the last 12 years. While rooted in tradition, she brings a unique, modern take to Indian dance to keep it relevant to today. Her goal is to help students learn to understand and express themselves in new, creative ways. Don't miss this special workshop!
