Leonard Peltier is an indigenous leader and elder of the American Indian Movement. He spent the last 48 years in Pr*son despite demands for his freedom. Tuesday, Feb 28th, marks the 50th anniversary of the historic struggle at Wounded Knee. The Wounded Knee struggle and the Pine Ridge shoot-out that led to Leonards arrest are part and parcel of the struggle to overcome US genocide against Native nations and to defend their sovereignty and rights.
