Internationally recognized speaker Dale Long will keynote a symposium, "In Their Words", about the life-long impact of segregation at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, February 15, in Garland's Granger recreation Center. Long survived the 1963 Birmingham church bombing that killed 4 of his friends and injured countless others. An event, "A Tale of Two Garlands", about two citizens that grew up in the same era but had distinctly different views of their hometown will follow. The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the nonprofit Friends of Garland's Historic Magic 11th Street. For more information see www.friendsofgarlandshistoricmagic11thst.org
