What’s a man in a bow tie, bowler hat and carrying an umbrella doing bobbing in the surf at Perth’s City Beach at sunset? He’s part of the quirky annual Beach Ball event and this award winning image is part of an exhibition by West Australian photographer Kerry Faulkner at Team Digital’s Bunker Gallery.
The exhibition ‘I Dream of Swimming Again’ captures the playfulness of Perth’s summers with images from City Beach and Coogee. It also reflects Kerry’s winter yearning for the warmer days of summer when she can swim again in the clear, cool ocean waters near her home in Fremantle.
Opening Night is Friday 19th August from 6:00pm to 8:30pm.

Kerry is a multi-award winning journalist. Her street photography images have been in exhibitions in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and New York and featured in a number of international publications including Street Photography Magazine and are part of the WA State Library image collection.
She describes her style of photography as ‘fast and loose’ and says creatively she thrives on photographing people who show daring, passion, energy, exuberance and resilience.
She is a member of the Australian Association of Street Photographers Inc (AASPI).
