Ann Foster was an Andover woman accused of witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. This one woman play, written and performed by Lori Prescott Hansen, a direct descendant of Ann Foster, tells her story through visions and memories Ann is experiencing during her last days in the Salem jail. Lori Prescott Hansen draws extensively from court documents and town records to capture her ancestor’s story. The play will be presented in the Sanctuary of the North Parish Church, located in the Old Center in North Andover. The church congregation dates back to 1645 and was involved in the Witch Hysteria in Andover, where more witches were accused than in Salem. The play run time is approximately one hour. A reception with the cast and crew and light refreshments will follow the performance, downstairs in Freeman Hall. Tickets are $10, available by advance purchase and at the door.
