Grants Pass High School's Theatre Department presents their Fall Musical: “HONK! Jr” playing at the GPHS Performing Arts Center, Nov 14-23, 2025. We are excited to also welcome ten students from South Middle School into our cast as well!“HONK! Jr” is a delightful, heartwarming musical adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's “The Ugly Duckling." Ugly, an odd-looking duckling, faces ridicule from her siblings and others, and goes on an adventure of self-discovery. Along the way, she meets a cast of unique characters, outwits a wily cat, and finds that being different is not a bad thing, ultimately learning to love herself and discover her true identity as a graceful swan. The musical focuses on themes of diversity, rejection, self-acceptance, bravery, and kindness. It is a colorful and entertaining show on the shorter side, perfect for audiences of all ages!
Directed and Choreographed by Erica Bury, the production features Katie Jarvis Shomler as Music Director, Wayd Drake as Technical Director and Set Designer, Lucia Perkins as Costume Designer, Connor Moore as Student Lighting Designer, and Clara Bury as Stage Manager. The show is supported by Julia Cuppy, Director of Theatre at GPHS and Tianna Eddy, GPHS Theatre Producer.
