*To note: A basic knowledge of play therapy and experience with some child clients is required in order to attend this training. It is set at an intermediate level.

Training Description: This training is designed for therapists with a basic knowledge of play therapy in agency, private practice, and school settings who are interested in learning creative ways to incorporate pop culture references to engage, assess, and treat clients using play therapy techniques and interventions. We will cover the therapeutic benefits of incorporating fantasy narratives into play therapy along with the therapeutic powers of play that can be successfully addressed through this medium. Participants will be introduced to a variety of experiential techniques and interventions inspired by popular wizardry characters to engage, assess, and treat clients with anxiety and depression in play therapy.
Learning Objectives:
Describe therapeutic benefits to incorporating fantasy narratives into play therapy sessions.
Describe the therapeutic powers of play that are addressed through the integration of wizardry inspired techniques and interventions in play therapy sessions.
Demonstrate 3 wizardry inspired interventions to build rapport/engagement in play therapy.
Identify 3 wizardry inspired interventions for assessment in play therapy sessions.
List 5 ways to extend play therapy interventions to include narratives and metaphors from pop culture.
Identify 3 ways to facilitate play therapy termination through the use of wizardry inspired activities.

Refund and Cancellation Policy:
Connect Counseling Center, LLC will make every effort to work with you and resolve issues related to refunds or cancellations. Due to the nature of this training, materials will be purchased prior to the training for the purposes of experiential activities. Therefore, we are not able to offer a refund within 48 hours of the date of the training unless the refund is requested due to unforeseen illness. We also incur a processing fee for the training and may ask that you retain the processing fee at the time of refund.
Covid-19 Addendum:
Due to the uncertain nature of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Connect Counseling Center, LLC reserves the option to cancel and/or re-schedule trainings held in person if a rise in Covid-19 cases reinstate limits for group gatherings, or the trainer contracts Covid-19 and is unable to attend the training. In this case, CCC will attempt to offer a virtual training and will contact participants with the option to participate. If the participant chooses not to participate in the alternate training option, they may be entitled to a partial refund or credit for a future training opportunity. If the trainer is unable to present virtually, CCC will consider a partial or full refund to training participants.
