Dave Markward has dedicated his professional life to public education, starting his career as a junior high school science teacher, then as a coach, principal, school district superintendent, college instructor, and educational consultant. Markward is a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School and Augustana College (Illinois), he also holds two advanced degrees from Western Illinois University and a doctorate from Illinois State University.
