The rich tradition of folk music has been a source of inspiration for many notable composers over the years and served as the basis for many of the great works for wind band. This concert presents examples by Darius Milhaud, Percy Grainger and Dan Welcher that highlight how the tuneful melodies sung and played by everyday people can inspire great works of art.
