Come and listen as Kenda shares excerpts from her literary work that will take you on her journey of faith in Jesus Christ! As a special added treat, singer/songwriter B. Sherese will be joining us. Kenda Faith Smith was born to the late Rev. Gregory Johnson and to wife, Belinda Johnson on April 18, 1977. Kenda is thankful for the legacy of love, support and sacrifices her parents made on her behalf over the years. Kenda realizes that the foundation in Christ that her parents built in her life is the reason why she stands strong today.Her mother continues to be a strong and powerful voice in her life, full of wisdom and encouragement.
Kenda is a loving wife of 23 years to Emmanuel and the mother of two beautiful daughters, Arie-Yana and Imani. She loves her family greatly and is thankful for them. She is also thankful for all of her siblings, family members and friends.She discovered at a young age that she enjoys working with children and has over 20 years experience serving children and families. Kenda loves connecting with and encouraging others and desires to help to make a positive difference in the lives of others with the help of the Lord.
Kenda is an active member in her church, Love United Ministries, and serves as the Director of Outreach for the Love United Ministries Task force.She wasordained as Deacon alongside her husband in 2023.As Kendaembarks on a new journey in her faith,sheunderstands that God will lead her and be with her in everything that He has called her to. God has called her to have relentless faith as she strives to share her gifts to uplift those around herand the world. Kenda truly believes and is a living witness that that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37).
B. Sherese (Brandie Sherese Brown), born and raised in Baltimore,
Maryland, is a dynamic artist, minister, and entrepreneur committed to her
faith, her family, and fulfilling her divine purpose. Her musical journey
began in her home church, Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she sang in
the Mass Choir and the Penn Specials. These early experiences laid the
foundation for her passion for music and ministry.
As she grew, B. Sherese showcased her talents in various settings,
from playing Glenda the Good Witch in The Wiz during middle school to
participating in choir, jazz band, and marching band at Dunbar High School.
Encouraged by her mother and choir director, she pursued gospel music
while also exploring theatrical productions such as Howard G’s Never
Would Have Made It and Cherry Hill Turns. After high school, she ventured
into the music industry, performing with D.C.-based go-go band “Ready And
Willing” and recording her first song as Mrs. Scarlet.
Following a transformative 9-year hiatus, B. Sherese rededicated
her life to God, reclaiming her identity and purpose. Her musical career
flourished as she joined the United Brethren for Christ Church of The Living
God and collaborated with national and international gospel groups like
Juan Santiago Uninhabited Praise and Higher Dimension Praise Coral. Her
debut single, Undefeated, and subsequent releases, including the hit single
It’s My Life and EP The Valley, reflect her journey of resilience, faith, and
triumph.
B. Sherese's accomplishments include multiple awards. Her work has been recognized by Sony and Tristatte Sounds with her song, "It's My Life," featured on the "I Am Gospel" Compilation CD. In addition to her musical achievements, she is a gifted radio host, co-hosting programs like the Praise Fest Show, the Maurette Brown Clark Show and Charm City Spotlight.
Beyond music, B. Sherese is the Owner and Operator of Dot's House Catering & Events and leads a non-profit foundation ministry dedicated to serving others. With her unwavering faith and passion for uplifting communities, B. Sherese continues to inspire audiences world-wide.
