This one-hour special serves as an experimental session to gather audience feedback and suggestions. The insights gained will be considered for future touring around community events, enabling us to share stories broadly.

Event Overview:
Experience an unforgettable evening of poetry and storytelling with "Echoes from the Horn," a mesmerizing one-man show featuring Moseffano, a Somali refugee. This unique performance brings to life the vibrant tapestry of Somali culture, history, and the resilience of its people. Through evocative verses and narratives, audiences will journey from the ancient lands of Punt and the bustling streets of Mogadishu to the peaceful countryside and into the heart of the Somali diaspora.

Narrated by Mo himself, along with a guiding voice that frames his journey, "Echoes from the Horn" delves into heritage, loss, and the enduring spirit of a displaced people. Mo’s poetry transcends boundaries, offering profound insights into the beauty of Somalia before conflict, the pain of separation, and the hope that endures among its dispersed sons and daughters.

Hosted by Jamali Bowden as an MC, who has been performing word experiments around Naarm/Melbourne for the past seven years, this event guarantees a night of engaging and thought-provoking performance poetry. Jamali is dedicated to celebrating everyday humanity through poetic portraits and strives to transform words into music, heal through poetry, and articulate a coherent and actionable worldview.

This evening is more than just a poetry reading; it is an invitation to embark on a journey of understanding and empathy. "Echoes from the Horn" promises to be a deeply moving experience, highlighting the shared humanity that unites us all, beyond the echoes of conflict and across the seas of separation.
