About this Event
San Francisco’s public school arts educators are about to find themselves honored and elevated–quite literally above pedestrians and passersby–in a large-scale eye-catching new mural on Woodside Avenue. The vibrant new mural celebrating San Francisco’s long tradition of artists and arts educators will soon be unveiled on a retaining wall that sits along the property line of the venerable Laguna Honda Hospital. The mural, designed and painted by artist Nico Berry, highlights large-scale portraits of six arts educators who teach and work in a variety of disciplines, from music, to visual arts, to dance. The mural’s title, Dreamers of Dreams, comes from a 1873 poem championing the role of the artist in society, and the mural highlights that role by celebrating San Francisco artists and arts educators who inspire the next generation in the classroom and beyond.
Please join us on Thursday, April 10th from 4:30PM - 6:00PM as we celebrate our arts educators and the new mural!
