Bio: Drake von Trapp is a multi-award-winning interdisciplinary belly dancer/researcher. He has a bachelor’s degree in contemporary modern dance from Texas Woman’s University, where he is currently completing 2 master’s degrees in Dance and Gender Studies. His graduate studies into men in belly dance have inspired a trailblazing scope of research that have led to collaborations with some of the biggest belly dance festivals in the country. His experience as a personal trainer, an academician, and his cross-training in West African and modern dance makes him a dynamic performer, an accessible instructor, and an intellectual powerhouse.
