ORC invites you to a special War Horse Rememberance Event, in memory of all those horses (and animals) that have braved and fallen in battle. 1. EVENT SCHEDULE
The event will include 2 courses.
An indoor SJ course followed by a Road & Tracks (R&T) hacking course (with route directions).
The day will start at Oswestry Equestrian Centre Indoor school, with a small Showjump course, with time to play over jumps, during the 15 min build up prior to your allocated R&T hack set off times.
Riders will be made up of small groups, with times published the week leading up to event.
Show jumping will be under a controlled environment, regulated and assisted by official ORC helpers of the day, so please wait for their say before starting to jump.
All riders must leave for Roads and Tracks course promptly, and on time, after collecting their route directions from the organisers.
(For those familiar with area, please do not deviate from our scheduled hack route of the day).
We have ordered dry weather, but can't promise our request will be heard 🙏☀️😉
However, in respect of the War Horses that have gone before us, and braved the worst conditions imaginable, unless the weather is extreme, the event, both inside and outside, will go ahead as planned - come 🌧🌂 or ☀️
Book on and take this honored opportunity of parading your own beloved horse around a scenic 4 mile countryside course to represent just how thankful and proud we are of our horses' history and ancestors on the battle field of war.
(Once booked on, if you are unable to attend for any reason you will still be charged.)
2. MANDATORY DRESS CODE:
Wear something PURPLE' 💜 to represent this event's 'animals in battle' tribute.
FULL FANCY DRESS is strongly encouraged to celebrate this War Horse remembrance day.
As an extra twist, there will be a special War Horse TROPHY and beautiful ROSETTE up for grabs, for the most creative, and owner-made, fancy dress of the day.
Let's be creative for this special event and show just how thankful we are 🐴❤
3. PARKING:
Due to lack of parking space, places will be limited, so do book on early.
Please park boxes/trailers as efficiently, and regimental as possible, to ensure max space remains available for all riders to attend.
(Those ignoring above will be asked to move.)
Spectators welcome, but we do ask please, to park cars on road or somewhere that won't take up space where a trailer/box could park.
If you are sharing a vehicle or hacking up please let us know when you book on, so we can accommodate more vehicles in places you won't need.
