✨ Community Tales: Mami Wata the African Goddess of Water ✨📅 Saturday 4 October | 10–11am & 11.30am–12.30pm
Join writer and cultural facilitator Dr Michelle Yaa Asantewa for a vibrant morning of storytelling and creativity at Morden Hall Park.
In this interactive session, families will be introduced to the powerful West African water spirit, Mami Wata. Through rhythm, movement, and story, children will explore themes of nature, culture and belonging.
After the story, our volunteers will guide children in making a colourful greetings card to take home, decorated with a mermaid, cowries and beautiful fish.
These Community Tales sessions are designed to celebrate the diversity of cultures on our doorstep, while highlighting our park as a shared space where stories bring people together and connect us to the natural world.
