On Sunday evening, October 12, it will be a magical night with the second in this fall's "Coming Home" supper series. Once again, Chef Vijay Sadhu will create a culinary experience beyond your imaginations. You won't want to miss it. DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS OCTOBER 5! At the September supper, we will already have been reminded that food can transport us after hearing the story of African beignets which offer a taste of home to Chef Elizabeth who escaped with her sister during the Congo civil war in 1996.
The truth is that, for a variety of reasons, we are all transients. We yearn for connection - to people who are missed and places which seem far away.
For this October supper, we are straying from our routine to bring in an outside speaker. Instead, each of us (you and I) will be the presenters as we are all invited to share a recipe from "home" and the stories that it holds.
In times of displacement or distance, across borders and generations, there are flavors and dishes which remind us of who we are as we make home in new places. Come join us in this circle of love and renewal that food awakens in us as we gather at the tables of our memory.
