Join us for an evening of music, fashion, and sake featuring the sounds of ShimoKita Bam Bam with special guests Tokyo Tramps! The evening will showcase sake from Farthest Star Sake, New England's only sake brewery, as well as kimono demonstrations from Kimono Seika.
ShimoKita Bam Bam is blend of American R&B and Japanese pop, of traditional and modern sounds, and driving rhythms. They are based near Boston, Massachusetts but their spiritual home is in the izakayas and dining bars, the live houses and concert halls, and the summer festivals of Shimokitazawa ("ShimoKita" for short) in Tokyo, Japan.
The Tokyo Tramps have been long time favorites on the New England blues circuit. Featuring the husband and wife team of singer-songwriter-bassist, Yukiko Fujii and singer-songwriter-guitarist, Satoru Nakagawa, they are the heart and soul of the Tramps. By immersing themselves in the study and nuances of American blues, the duo have created their own inventive sound while showing reverence to the tradition.
