“CHECK YOUR POLITICS AT THE DOOR!”…a much needed night of #Niskaunity to benefit the Niskayuna Senior Center!.
We detest politics. We try hard to avoid it, and if you read this all the way through, hopefully you’ll see that’s what we’re doing here.

We love Niskayuna. Like really really love it to the point where, when it hurts, we hurt.
.
And over the past few weeks, politics has hurt Niskayuna.
.
It has hurt how we see our Town, how we feel about each other, and in particular it has hurt John and Erin, our Town Supervisor candidates (neither of whom support the nastiness). They are not career politicians, but rather parents and neighbors who have offered themselves and their talents for the betterment of our community. And in exchange they’ve been shouted at, been berated, and even visited at home.

What they should both be is thanked.

And so we are VERY pleased to announce the “CHECK YOUR POLITICS AT THE DOOR!” guest bartender event on Monday November 3rd (election eve) at 7pm, in which Erin and John will WORK TOGETHER behind the mahogany serving drinks and raising funds for the Niskayuna Senior Center. This is your opportunity to come in and THANK THEM, and to enjoy an environment FULL of #Niskaunity and VOID of politics.

We invite you to talk about kids or music or sports or whatever. Just no politics please…or you’ll be shown the door (by Big Ed – our bouncer from our nightclub days - all 6’8” and 400lbs of him).

It’s been written that “It’s good people who make good places”. Erin is good people. John is good people. And Niskayuna is a good place. The fact that we can host an event like this one is a testament to that. We’re hopeful you’ll join us, support our senior citizens, and be a part of healing what politics has hurt. #Niskaunity
