"Art+Connection" Vancouver Renaissance hosted at The Arbutus Club

Inspired by the iForest Foundation and our passion for uniting communities, Angela and I aim to create a legacy reminiscent of the iconic duo, Gertrude and Alice. Our journey began unexpectedly through Airbnb, blossoming into a successful partnership and countless unforgettable dinner parties. We believe in fostering connections and empowering the underprivileged, making this event a beacon of unity and creativity.

We are privileged to have invited influential artists, painters, and musicians to showcase their talent to Vancouver's discerning audience.

Emilio is a Calgary born musician and composer. His love for music brought him to Vancouver in 2015. He completed his studies and was awarded his bachelor of music in Jazz Studies at Capilano University in 2020.

In Calgary Emilio studied double bass with Rubim DeToledo, Head of faculty of Grant Macewen Jazz Department, and Classical bass with Sheila Garrett, Assistant principle bass chair of the Calgary Philharmonic. Since then he has gone to study with Cody Hutchinson, John Day, and Vancouver's own Darren Radtke, Andre Lechance, and Jodi Proznick.

Emilio's style is a dynamic range from jazz and bebop to contemporary, classical, and pop. He has been featured on many recordings that cross all these genres. His latest work is featured in recordings with Vancouver artists KAIS, 45th Avenue Jazz Band, Ilhan Saferali, Noriko Jazz, and EITHER EITHER.

Hi! I'm Lilly. I'm an artist and an interior designer.
While experimenting with different mediums and styles, I continue to find my own unique 'signature'.I mostly use acrylic and charcoal to create abstract and expressionist paintings.Growing up in a non-artistic family, I've always been a curious kid with a big imagination.Painting is like another world to me the moment I hold the brush.Complexity in simplicity, movements of emotions, thoughts and energy; these are things that inspired me.

Vera is primarily self taught in watercolour and acrylic mediums. She likes to paint mainly local subjects, but is also inspired by many wonderful images elicited through her travels in Italy and Great Britain. Vera presently participates with artistic sessions at the Kerrisdale community center.

The Quilchena Terrace’s deck is a favourite, providing the perfect venue for hosting one of our delectable barbecues or a cocktail party.
