ARRIVAL FILM SCREENING AND DISCUSSIONPresented by the Edwards College as part of Humanities Week, Denis Villeneuve’s 2016 award-winning film stars Amy Adams as Louise Banks, a linguist who leads a team of investigators exploring how to communicate with extraterrestrials who arrive on spaceships around the world. Following the screening, Dennis Earl, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies; Kristen Fleckenstein, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of English, and Farrah Hersh, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, present a discussion on the film’s context.
