Anteriors - Aesthetic and function
Today esthetic might be the main reason why patients seek for dental treatment. Attractive and balanced smile is dream for many. How to fulfill patients expectations and how will they feel at the end of treatment? The esthetics in dentistry are subjective, but there are objective components too. The smile is dynamic, consists not only of the teeth -their -shape, length and color, but smile has also face and lips. Lips and their mobility, the shape of the jaws, occlusion, periodontal tissue and facial proportions-to mentioned few, may influence the result. Facially generated dentistry is a modern concept that takes into account these and many other aspects in treatment planning. Regardless of the material chosen, whether composite or ceramic, the basic principles of balanced smile are the same.
Lecture part
• Assessment of smile components.
• Smile design - direct, analog or digital prototype
• Matrix for making functional and aesthetic prototype *mock up, wax transfer intraorally
• Free hand and guided direct restorative techniques
Hands-on part - restoration of anterior teeth utilizing free hand and guided direct restoration techniques – labial veneer, discolored tooth, worn teeth an pegged shape lateral.
The course objective is to master smile parameters, function and color in direct composite restorations.
