“A Maroon Tale”Conceived, written, composed by Damon Banks
This multimedia performance depicts the life of West African male who survives the infamous trans-Atlantic slave experience, revolts, escapes, then lives the rest of his life in the hills of the Caribbean. His contemporary alter ego experiences a parallel experience navigating the mass incarceration initiative of the American criminal justice system.
This performance is made possible in part through the Arts Mid-Hudson community regrant, in affiliation with NYSCA.
