Musick's Company is thrilled to present a very special program of Christmas music from Appalachia and the American South -- "old music OF the New World". Join us for hauntingly beautiful folk music from the hollers of Appalachia, rousing shape-note hymns and an evocative palette of sound created by folk instruments. The concert will feature several solos from Kentuckian minstrel and musicologist John Jacob Niles, a larger set of Southern Harmony pieces and Shaker tunes from Pleasant Hill, KY. Featured instruments will include fiddle, guitar, viol, dulcimer, recorder and organ. This concert coincides with the ongoing celebration of Lexington's 250th anniversary, and we're proud to honor Kentucky's musical heritage. We hope to see you there!
