Now, you thought you`d seen them all, didn`t you? Well, there is a classical dance being revived that you might never have heard of?! Andhranatyam!
This Sep 6, Nikitha Gaddam will be flying in from Hyderabad to guide us through the hidden history of this ancient art form — once danced in temples, courts, and sacred spaces, and nearly lost in colonial times, and revived with love in the 1970s. From invocations to guardian deities to the passionate call of Satyabhama for Krishna — we will witness the ritual invocations, the intimate grace, and the lyrical storytelling all come alive. Join us for this rare celebration of a dance tradition reborn - in your very own Red House!
Nikitha Gaddam is a Doordarshan-graded Andhranatyam artist. Trained under eminent gurus, she is devoted to reviving lost narratives and breathing new life into this ancient form through performance, research, and digital storytelling.
Note: The attendees may be seated on a carpeted floor.
