The Nest Collective invites you to enjoy a spectacular show with Eastern cultural phenomenon Anda Union - their first London show in over seven years.
In 2026, Anda Union celebrates two decades of music making, a journey that has transformed them from a grassroots revivalist ensemble into a cultural phenomenon across the East and beyond. Recent winners of the hit reality TV show The Big Band, they captivated millions by singing in their mother tongue, propelling Mongolian music into the mainstream and becoming a household name in China.
Today, Anda Union commands stadium stages and major festivals nationwide, inspiring young audiences with the power and beauty of their traditions.
----
Formed in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, Anda Union is a dynamic ensemble of musicians who trained from a young age in traditional Mongolian music. Their name, Anda - meaning “blood brother” in Mongolian - reflects their deep bond and their shared mission: to preserve and revitalize the endangered cultural heritage of the steppe.
Drawing on the diverse traditions of Mongolia’s many ethnic groups, they weave together haunting long-song, resonant throat singing, and instrumental mastery on horse-head fiddles, two-stringed lutes, flutes, and percussion. The result is a sound that is at once ancient and contemporary -haunting harmonies and vibrant strings evoking the vastness of the grasslands and the rhythms of horseback life.
Driven by their passion for cultural preservation, Anda Union has stunned audiences worldwide for over 20 years. They have headlined major world music and mainstream festivals such as WOMAD, Roskilde Festival, Savannah Music Festival, Edinburgh Festival and Celtic Connections, and have performed at prestigious venues including the Southbank Centre, Kennedy Center, and Stanford University.
Their powerful performances resonate far beyond cultural borders, creating a magisterial sound that remains true to their roots while speaking directly to modern listeners.
After a sell-out tour of the U.S. and Canada in 2025, Anda Union returns to the UK for the first time in seven years. Whether on the grasslands of Inner Mongolia or on the world’s greatest stages, Anda Union continues to carry the soul of Mongolia to global audiences - offering an unforgettable journey into one of the world’s oldest and richest musical traditions.
