Join Alaska's own designer, tattoo artist, x muralist at Anchorage Design Week for a hands-on workshop where you’ll explore tattoo illustration, body flow, and personal storytelling through design.
You are a living canvas — a work of art, with or without ink. Whether you're inked head-to-toe or simply curious about the art form, this session invites you to dive into the creative process of designing tattoos that speak to your story.
Winter will share insights from her experience working with bodies as both medium and muse, guiding participants through the conceptual journey of crafting tattoo illustrations for themselves. You’ll learn how to consider body flow, composition, and anatomical adaptation — essential elements that transform a design into a wearable narrative. Participants will sketch and develop their own tattoo concepts.
Whether you're designing for skin or sketchbook, this workshop celebrates the power of self-expression and the beauty of intentional mark-making.
All materials provided. No prior experience required. Permanent tattoo is not included. Create your own tattoo concept with no experience needed.

Anchorage Design Week: February 25 - March 1, 2026
Organized by the Anchorage Museum with numerous community partners, Anchorage Design Week is an annual gathering of creative minds to promote and inspire place-based design and imagine the future of our city and the lifeways of Northern regions. Design Week welcomes community members and creatives to consider the role of design in advancing positive futures through visuals, interventions, workshops, and conversations.
As we celebrate what makes Alaska distinct, we look forward to connecting with you and our community - and maybe shaking off a bit of cabin fever - as Anchorage Design Week again coincides with Anchorage Fur Rendezvous festivities in late February.
Anchorage Design Week is a project of the Anchorage Museum in collaboration with the Alaska Design Forum, the Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska Chapter American Society of Landscape Architects, University of Alaska Anchorage, NeighborWorks Alaska, and AIGA Alaska. Anchorage Design Week is a member of World Design Weeks.
