Curtis Glatter will discuss his latest 2023 release with a new group called Troikastra as well as his techniques for surviving and thriving as a musician during COVID. Troikastra is a cross country music trio of Michigan based drummer/electronic musician Curtis Glatter, turntable legend Tenshun and drummer/producer Nathan Hubbard. The trio creates kaliedoscopic music from samples, 16rpm turntables and modular synths. For fans of musique concrete, plunderphonics and skipping exotica records.
Curtis Glatter is an American artist, composer, improviser and percussionist. In the past 30 years, Glatter has studied with conductor/ composer Pierre Boulez in NYC and AACM's Wadada Leo Smith. He has performed on numerous live and studio recordings all over America and has been a featured guest on WXOU, CTN TV, WCBN, WKPBS, WHFR, KSDS. In 2023, Glatter and his cross-country trio called TROIKASTRA released their first CD called “It's the door with the little stairs” on the Castor and Pollux Music label and this spring season he is currently hosting the 13th Annual Drum and Dance Jam at the Interfaith Center for Spiritual Growth in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
