Join illustrator and printmaker Lucy Gell for an experimental, 2 day workshop exploring the process of screen-print, with artwork generated solely through analogue processes!This fun hands on approach to screen-printing offers exciting results without the use of a computer.
Using various types of mark marking and a range of materials; over the course of the 2 days you’ll explore textural and linear approaches to image making, working to develop a two colour transparency/ positive from which to print.
The workshop will support you through the process of exposing your analogue image onto silk-screen (a photographic process using UV sensitive emulsion), translating your hand produced artwork into a stencil ready to print. You’ll be taught how to mix colour and use specialist equipment to create a lovely bundle of two colour, A4, paper screen-prints to take home at the end of workshop.
It would be advisable to have an image in mind before attending the workshop, however there will be opportunity to develop your design during the first day.
Experience level:
Suitable for beginners and anyone wanting to further their knowledge of this wonderful printmaking technique.
