Join us on Wednesday March 12th at 5:30pm for a talk exploring the influence and legacy of the Anabaptist movement on contemporary life. Ruth Gouldbourne will explore the Anabaptist movement and touch on themes such as toleration, women’s freedom, pacifism, and the place of experience in truth-telling. It promises to be an informative and thought-provoking event by one of the UK’s leading advocates of the Anabaptist movement.Ruth has been a Baptist minister for 37 years. She has served in Bedford, in London and is now in Cheadle Hulme outside Manchester. She also taught history and doctrine for 12 years at the Baptist College in Bristol. Her research interests include the Radical Reformation (which was the subject of her doctoral thesis), and questions of Baptist history, identity and ecclesiology.
She remains a Senior research fellow with Bristol College, is also a Senior research fellow with IBTSC, and has taught for Spurgeons and NBC. (She is hoping to achieve the set of Baptist Colleges before she retires.)
She has been married to Ian for 40 years and counts that a huge privilege.
She enjoys theatre, reading whodunits and building dolls houses.
The event is free but ticketed. Tickets are available from Eventbrite
