About this Event
Welcome to An overview of fish oils for healthy ageing: our Stirling story!
Join us at the University of Stirling for an exciting event exploring the benefits of fish oils for staying healthy as we age.
The session will kick off with Prof. Stuart Galloway, who will provide an overview of the University of Stirling’s previous and ongoing research into the benefits of omega-3, highlighting findings from recent studies. Next, PhD researcher Milena Banic will share insights from her PhD work, examining how various fish oil dosing strategies influence uptake, washout, and essential molecular pathways in both young and older adults. To conclude, Dr. Nidia Rodriguez-Sanchez will close this session and provide practical guidance translating the science of fish oils into practical tips and how we can incorporate this in our diet.
Prof. Stuart Galloway: ‘Background on omega-3 research in FHSS at Stirling’ (15 mins)
Milena Banic: PhD presentation ‘Understanding omega-3: A dosing approach to study incorporation, washout and molecular mechanisms in ageing’ (30 mins)
Dr. Nidia Rodriguez-Sanchez: ‘Translating the science into practice’ (15 mins).
