An Italian Wedding is a headphone verbatim show exploring the themes of identity and belonging through the lens of an Italian wedding. Researchers have conducted interviews with members of the Italian community and edited the stories into a playlist. Actors listen to the playlist in performance and speak at the same time as they are hearing the stories. This innovative approach allows the actors to capture the authentic voices and stories of Italian communities, spanning different generations and experiences. A moving, poignant and humorous piece of theatre drawn from a collection of unique and distinct narratives from the Italian communities of Melbourne and Italy.
Un Matrimonio Italiano è uno spettacolo in cuffia che esplora i temi dell’identità e dell’appartenenza attraverso la lente di un matrimonio italiano. I ricercatori hanno condotto interviste con membri della comunità italiana e hanno inserito le storie in una playlist. Gli attori ascoltano la playlist durante lo spettacolo, e parlano mentre ascoltano le storie. Questo approccio innovativo consente agli attori di catturare le voci e le storie autentiche della comunità italiana che abbracciano generazioni ed esperienze diverse.
