Welcome to An Introduction to Wine Tasting!
Join us for a delightful and laid-back evening of wine exploration upstairs at The Robin Hood. Guided by Chris White from Ellis Wines, this tasting session is perfect for both newcomers and seasoned wine enthusiasts. You'll be introduced to 4 carefully selected white wines and 4 elegant red wines, each offering unique flavors and stories.
Chris has worked in the wine business for nearly 20 years—spending 10 years selling to independent restaurants across the South West, and 10 years in restaurants and hotels before that. Relaxed and fun, Chris wants you to enjoy learning and understanding the basics of wine and hopefully find something new to try at home or next time you're out!
To elevate your tasting experience, our in-house chef, Dennis Ray Veazey, will be serving a selection of delicious Vietnamese food to pair with the wines. Expect fresh and vibrant dishes like summer rolls and green papaya salad, each thoughtfully prepared to complement the wine selection. These flavors will add a unique twist to the evening, enhancing your enjoyment of each pour.
Throughout this 90-minute session, Chris will walk you through the essentials of wine tasting—how to appreciate the aromas, understand the different flavor profiles, and find the perfect wine for your palate. This is more than just a tasting; it's a chance to deepen your appreciation of wine in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
