An Introduction to Senior Mental Health Leadership is a practical course for leaders who may be new to leadership, or new to the role of senior mental health lead. This evidence-informed training will help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to cultivate a strong strategic approach to mental health in your school. This 3-part, 2-day programme covers five of the DfE's Senior Mental Health Lead principles: Leadership and management; Identifying need and monitoring impact of interventions; Staff development; Creating an ethos and environment; and Curriculum teaching and learning.
- Advance preparation (school audit) - Before day 1, you will be provided with access to a 1 hour on-demand course on 'how to complete a whole school audit'.
- Day 1 (activity day) - With your audit completed, you will attend a trainer-led activity day, including a coaching workshop which will support in creating a plan.
- Day 2 (personalised coaching) - You will attend a 1 hour personalised virtual coaching session on creating your plan.
- This course has been assured for DfE grant-funded senior mental health lead training.
