An Introduction to Modern Calligraphy

Come and join us for a fun and creative workshop where you'll learn the basics of modern calligraphy! This in-person event will take place at CV23 0DU. This is the perfect opportunity to explore the art of beautiful handwriting. Get hands-on experience, learn new techniques, and leave with your own personalized creations. Join me and let me guide you through the process of creating Modern Calligraphy using a dip pen and ink.

This day course will provide you with a perfect introduction to Modern Calligraphy and is perfect for beginner learners. The tutor will introduce you to inks, nibs and papers most suitable for beginners and guide you through a series of warm up exercises demonstrating and explaining upstrokes, pressure variation, loops, curves and more. Through step by step demonstrations the tutor will show you how to join common letters allowing you time to practice and go on to create your own gift tags and book mark to take home with you.

All of the materials that you need for the day are provided and you'll have your own nib and nib holder to take home with you at the end of the workshop so you can continue to practice your lettering, enabling you to creatively personalize cards, invitations, letters and more.

Refreshments are provided, please bring a packed lunch that you can store in the fridge.

Skill level - suitable for beginners. Places are limited to 12 students per class so you can have lots of individual guidance
