This workshop is being delivered by Echo in partnership with Loughborough University London's Digital Skills programme, where London-based businesses can access lots more free support.

Workshop description

This workshop is designed for anyone who is interested in starting or growing a digital business. We will cover a range of topics, including causal thinking vs entrepreneurial efficacy, the Entrepreneurial Strategy Compass, content creation and distribution, digital tips, hacks and tools, and brand advocacy.

Throughout the workshop, we will use real-life examples of successful digital entrepreneurs to demonstrate key concepts and strategies.


During this workshop, you will...

  • Learn about the facilitator's entrepreneurial journey and share our own experiences
  • Discuss the difference between causal thinking and entrepreneurial efficacy
  • Explore the Entrepreneurial Strategy Compass in small group discussions
  • Watch a video about the diffusion of innovations
  • Participate in a design thinking sprint team exercise
  • Brainstorm content ideas and create a basic content plan
  • Share digital tips, hacks and tools that we use and find useful
  • Discuss how to turn customers into brand advocates
  • Participate in a Q&A session with plenty of time for questions and feedback

We encourage you to bring your notebook, ask questions, and take part.

They'll also be plenty of allocated Q&A time for all those burning questions. Plus, you'll get a chance to meet everyone else taking part and build your network.

This workshop is designed for freelancers, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and sole traders — or anyone who would like to learn how to improve their digital presence and develop a strategy to achieve long-term goals.

James brings a wealth of experience working at hyper-growth Startup & Scale-up, Social Enterprises and Local Government. He is Chair of Elevate board at London Legacy Development Corporation, which aims to use the creation of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to change the lives of people in East London and drive growth and investment in London and the UK, by developing an inspiring and innovative place where people want and can afford to live, work and visit.

He is passionate about working with the communities and has experience working with various Local government authorities on various community initiatives, and has received awards such as the East London Young Community Hero Award, Special Recognition Award from High Sheriff of Greater London, and YIC Excellence Award from Newham Council & National Lottery fund.
