Brooklyn-born multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Louise Goffin was curious and determined to delve into the world of art at an early age, growing up in an environment that was nothing short of musical (her parents are renowned musicians Carole King and Gerry Goffin), and has been admired as a force ever since her debut in the industry. With music that's introspective and personal, reminiscent of Laurel Canyon fused artists who came before; Louise offers a soulful escape through her prolific songwriting and story-telling.
She sings on the iconic theme to Gilmore Girls and her own songwriting is informed by the DNA of great songwriting she grew up with . First appearing singing on records as a girl, she sang back-up vocals on Cheech and Chong's Basketball Jones, and on Carole King’s soundtrack for Maurice Sendak’s classic animated children’s movie, Really Rosie. Snagging record contracts over the years with Elektra-Asylum, Warner Bros. and Dreamworks, Louise’s debut album Kid Blue came out when she was 19. Priding herself on a balanced work/home life, she remains prolific, having gone on to release 10 albums and releasing a string of one -off singles on both major and her own independent Majority of One label. She earned a Grammy nomination for Carole King in 2011 on a album she both co-wrote and produced, "A Holiday Carole".
