About this Event
Please join us for our 2024 Spring seminar series on "Entrepreneurship in Asian High-Tech Industries." Each year, this series surveys the most recent trends, patterns, and challenges of entrepreneurship in Asia and their relevance to Silicon Valley and the U.S. Guest speakers include entrepreneurs, investors and mentors, and other experts on the current entrepreneurial ecosystems of major Asia economies.
Guest speaker (in-person): Simon D. Kim, Co-Founder & CEO, Glassdome
An experienced founder, engineer, and executive, Simon helps set Glassdome’s overall direction and leads Glassdome’s product development and Korean business units.
Simon founded Glassdome together with his high school and college classmate Josh Charnin-Aker. His startup leadership experience, technical expertise, and network in Korean and American business are a cornerstone of the company’s growth.
Before Glassdome, Simon was a Founding Member and Head of Software at Awair, an air quality IoT company. He helped grow the company from zero lines of code to Series B, helping to serve tens of thousands of customers as well as enterprises like Airbnb, Hyatt, and SGS.
Simon holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, where he was the President of ASES Stanford, one of the largest student entrepreneurship organizations in Stanford.
He also served as a sergeant in the Korean Army, including a deployment to Afghanistan as part of the International Security Assistance Force.
Simon is based in the Pacific Northwest. Outside of the office he enjoys skiing on Mount Hood and spending time with his two kids.
