Join artist and instruction Rev. Russell Hart, trained by Fr. Egon Sendler at L'Ecole Russe de St. Georges in Meudon, France, for this unique three-week experience in sacred art.
Through lecture, discussion, and hands-on demonstration, participants will learn the ancient technique of icon writing - a prayerful art form that reflects the presence and compassion of Christ. Together, we will "write" the Compassionate Christ in the Russian style, contemplating the One who raised Jairus' daughter, the son of the widow of Nain, and his friend Lazarus; who fed the multitudes and reached out to rescue Peter from from the waves. The same Christ is with us still - his compassion as full as ever.
Cost is $20 (includes all materials - paints, brushes, and icon panel).
Class size is limited to 8 participants to ensure personal instruction.
