Creating Space: An Exploration of Extensions and Laterals with Kim KorsonFriday, April 4 from 5:30-7:30 pm
A regular yoga practice shares many gifts, one of them is space. Space is a place of potential, where something can happen. Space between breath, space in our joints, space in our minds, space for more easeful movement of our bodies. It’s believed that our physical body (Annamaya Kosha) occupies nearly 75% of our awareness; let’s tune into the physical body as a gateway for creating space.
Bring your curiosity, questions, and lively spirit to join Kim in exploring postures that create length and space in the physical body, the starting point of our awareness. During this workshop you will practice several postures, primarily standing, with the intent of:
1. Reviewing the function(s) of each posture
2. Experimenting with variations that honor the function(s)
3. Feeling muscular activation
4. Learning structural aspects
This content is appropriate for individuals interested in developing their yoga practice, aspiring yoga teachers, and current yoga teachers. This workshop provides CEUs with the Yoga Alliance.
