Join author, director, and producer Ralph Macchio as he celebrates his new book, Waxing On: THE KARATE KID AND ME. He'll be on stage in conversation Emmy Award winning American television journalist, NYT best-selling author, filmmaker and public speaker, Mike Leonard!
Each ticket includes a signed copy of the new book, and Mr. Macchio will be happy to pose for a photo with ticket-holders!
An actor, producer, director with an extensive list of credits, Ralph Macchio is best known for his celebrated performance as Johnny in Frances Ford Coppola’s The Outsiders; the hit film My Cousin Vinny; and most notably the title role in the popular classic The Karate Kid and its successors. Expanding further on the Karate Kid Universe, Ralph continues to reprise his iconic role of Daniel LaRusso in the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai. He lives on Long Island with his family.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking can be tricky, if possible we recommend taking the Red Line (Addison Stop) Brown Line (Southport stop) the Irving Park, Addison, or Clark Street busses. Your favorite cab or ride-share app is also an option.
If your are driving, be aware that parking near the Music Box is limited. Please allow extra time when arriving by car.
Tips for street parking: Southport is a metered parking street. The meters run from 9:00am until 10:00pm Monday through Saturday. All neighboring streets are available for parking before 6:00pm (after 6:00pm some streets are permit–parking only. Please read signs carefully). Free street parking is available on and west of Ashland Ave (four blocks west of the theatre) and north of Irving Park (three blocks north of the theatre). After 5:00pm, Southport and adjacent intersecting streets north of Irving Park Road are permit-parking only.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Please do bring a printed ticket! if that's not possible, having the pdf on your phone works fine.
Will my book be autographed?
Yes, Mr. Macchio will pre-sign all books, and your autographed copy of Waxing On will be handed to you when you check in.
What about a photo?
You'll have an opportunity to have one photo taken with Mr. Macchio, assisted by Book Stall staff. If you are in a party of three, you can choose to each get an individual photo OR get one of everyone in your group together--no double-dipping!
Can I ask Mr. Macchio a question?
We'll collect written questions for the author as you arrive in the theatre. Due to time constraints we won't get to all of them, but we'll endeavor to select the most popular and original questions.
