An Evening With Nottingham Ceilidh Club At CommuniTree! (Free Entry)

We are thrilled to welcome Schuggie and Nottingham Ceilidh Club into CommuniTree. Schuggie will be the Caller for the evening and will be accompanied by live music from The Big Moose Ceilidh Band🫎 Be sure to book your ticket, this event will sell out quickly!

A note from Schuggie...

Never been to a ceilidh (pronounced Kay-Lea btw) before?

Actually, it doesn’t matter how many of them you’ve done before, or if you’ve done none at all. The person calling the dances (me -Schuggie😍) tells everyone what they need to do, and keeps it going. Everyone dances with everyone, whether you know each other or not. The more people the better!

Everyone gets a go. No one has the chance to bust different moves, and because no one *really* knows what’s going on🤣 it’s very difficult to feel self-conscious.

Essentially, most people are just guessing what they’re supposed to be doing, and that makes it brilliant. There are lots of friendly folks to give you a hand and get everyone up dancing. We call these folks, Ceilidh Ninjas.

Our ceilidhs are fun, social and inclusive🌈. You will however need to bring along a sense of humour as half the fun of ceilidh dances is making mistakes💕. You don’t have to be a member of the Nottingham Ceilidh Club to come and join in the craic.

Ceilidhs are enjoyed by all ages – from youngsters' first Scottish dancing experience to old-timers out enjoying a burl. People come dressed in jeans, full highland dress – and everything in between. We use gender free calling in our dances, so think fun, social and inclusive - Lions and Penguins!

Wear something comfortable to dance in.

Lastly, please don't take your own alcohol into the hall🍻 Buy your drinks from the bar, which is very reasonably priced and don't forget that the water is free.

CommuniTree reserves the right to cancel an event due to low attendance numbers, adverse weather conditions, or other circumstances which make it no longer possible to run the event. If you have booked a place and CommuniTree cancels the event, we will inform of the cancellation via email.

If you can no longer make it to the performance, please log into Eventbrite and cancel your ticket so others can enjoy the event.
