American pianist Mira Walker is known for her sensitive interpretations, ranging from J.S. Bach to Florence Price, and her research on historically underrepresented composers. Mira completed her B.A. in Music at the University of Alabama and her M.M. in Piano Performance at Indiana University. She is currently a D.M.A. candidate in Piano Pedagogy and Performance at the University of Michigan, where she also serves as a Graduate Student Instructor, in addition to her role as Pianist at BUC.
Mira is a prizewinner in dozens of competitions and has performed internationally in solo and chamber programs and with many renowned orchestras. Upcoming projects and performances include the release of her first album, featuring compositions by Women of the Chicago Black Renaissance.
