About this Event
Join us for an intimate conversation with renowned photographer Meryl Meisler as she presents her latest book, Street Walker—a vibrant collection of never-before-seen images and iconic classics from the cultural hotspots of the ‘70s and ‘80s.
From the gritty streets of New York City to the vibrant scenes of Las Vegas, Fire Island, Miami Beach, New Orleans, and beyond, Street Walker captures the essence of an era defined by bold social change, artistic freedom, and dynamic nightlife. Meisler’s signature blend of street and documentary photography offers a strikingly intimate and often humorous glimpse into the cultural fabric of late 20th-century America.
Designed and made in Italy, this limited-edition book is curated by Marco Savarese, with text contributions by Gulnara Lyabib Samoilova (founder of Women Street Photographers) and Lucrezia Bonarota. Meisler will share insights into her creative process, influences—ranging from Diane Arbus to her father’s family albums—and her lifelong passion for capturing the unfiltered moments of everyday life.
A book signing will follow the discussion.
