Mark McGrath Will Perform to Benefit MCPMark McGrath appeared onstage for MCP in its 1976 production of 1776. He so impressed the cast that they encouraged him to audition for The College Conservatory of Music at UC. He took their advice and won a four year scholarship to CCM. He graduated from CCM, then moved to New York City in 1982, and in two weeks was cast in Neil Simon's Little Me, which also featured James Coco and Victor Garber. He has also appeared on Broadway in The Three Musketeers and The Scarlet Pimpernel and in 1994-5, the National Touring Company of Blood Brothers, featuring Petula Clark and David Cassidy.
Since then he has sung with well-respected symphony orchestras throughout the U.S. For some time he has wanted to return to Mason and give back to MCP, which set him on his career path 49 years ago!
An Evening with Mark McGrath gala will be Saturday, September 13th, at 7:30pm at the Playhouse. The cost will be $50 and will include hors d'oeurves, two drinks, and dessert. Mark will perform two 50-60 minute sets of pop and Broadway songs with an Intermission. The evening calls for cocktail attire. Attendees should be 21 years of age or older. All proceeds will benefit MCP.
